June 22nd, 2010 ♥ Been too long, but enjoying life...

NOTE: I wrote this a few days ago but posted it on the 26th of June due to interruptions/time. Here it is, though! Happy reading.

Umm, hey!
I know I haven't blogged since my spring break, but May was the busiest month between studying for the final exams and EOCT, to trying to deal with my brother's baseball schedule, as well as going places every weekend. Since I last blogged, I have been confirmed and baptized in a Presbyterian church, visited Athens, GA for a wedding, saw Avenue Q, and have worked and had a lot of fun at the pool with friends despite little dramatic 'downfalls' so to speak that have come about (but I'll leave those out, it's nothing much... just 'middle school' type of drama between my friends, which I might add, Charlie and I hate, and like to avoid). But anyway, in today's blog-- since I am in no rush for work (I have the night shift)-- I'm going to share pictures and a brief insight of what I have been up to.

School ended better than I thought, and I walked alone to my car on the last, and droopy day of school. I had walked through this mob of people, purse on my shoulder, pondering the whole year as I squeezed my way through the hugs and laughter between friends, although I had none, which explained why it was a lonely trail for me. I looked around at others, thinking, "Amen". Nothing else really crossed my mind except a small bout of jealousy, which really was just me wishing the year had been better and I had made loads of friends (which didn't happen). Briefly my eyes had watered as I trotted through the crowd, but I was glad to be on my way out of that hell-hole. I know that's a harsh way of describing it, but I mean it. Anyway, the last two days of school were... interesting. Not the whole day itself, but one occasion. This guy who I've become sort of acquainted to, in my geography class, was taking books back to the stock room with me and a few other classmates. We went back maybe twice, goofing off on book carts and wheeling them through the halls, on our way to put textbooks away. Then we come back and settle down, when he asks my geography teacher if we can check the other rooms on the geography hall if they need books put away. I was bored beyond compare, and I wanted to get away from a girl that I didn't want to become more than acquaintances with, so I glanced at the guy and he was already looking at me, and smiled, waved, and said, "Come on!" like he was hoping I'd be the only one to come with him. Feeling a bit awkward but desperate to get away and do something else until the bell rang for our next exam (which for me, was interior design-- I'll show a photo of what I had to turn in, even though the landscape and floors lacked completion =( ). Together, we went to a sophomore social studies class, to see if the woman was ready to give us all of her American History books. She was a few books away from being ready, so we decided to double check some other classrooms. By the time we came back she was scanning in her last book, so the guy (I'm not going to name names) picked up a huge stack and the teacher said, "whoa, let her help!", so he dumped but precisely 2 books in my hand. As he held them, the teacher said, "Oh, there's a few more back here from my literature class, too." She went across the room to pick them up and gave them to me. He struggled to walk with the 12 textbooks weighing him down and I just laughed my head off, and he laughed and said "shut up", and I said, "let me take some of those, geez". I took some more from the top, but only about 2 or 4. We were almost in the stock room and raced in there so we could put the books down. We looked around trying to find places that all these books would fit. Once we were done we headed out to one more classroom in the trailers-- the math rooms-- and went to his math teacher to see if he had anything. He had only one math book and two literature books. He gave the math and literature book to the guy, and then he looked at me, and said, "Make it look like you're not just tagging along-- here," and I took another literature book. We headed back, as we talked about how much our year at Lakeside sucked. Once we reached the stock room once more, we put them away and headed back to class, with 5 minutes left. He looked at me and asked, "Can I ask you a question?" Personally I thought that was a silly question already! I was said, "Yes..." and then I snapped, "I'm afraid to know what you're going to ask". I was thinking he'd ask if I was a lesbian, since some jerk called me one, all because I looked sporty one day -_-. I said, "Hmm... I'm not sure if I want to know what you're going to ask". Briefly we stopped once more, at our biology teacher's class, to see if she needed the A.P. books taken back, but she already had them taken back late the day before. We spoke to her for awhile, and she seemed happy (and normally I don't see my biology teacher that smiley). We were down the hall from class and truly, I wanted to know. So I said, once we reached the classroom, "Alright, go ahead and ask", but he said, "Wait, let's get our stuff first." The bell rang as we walked in. We grabbed what we had and walked out, and I said, "Well?". He said, "Are you single?"... now, if you knew me well enough you'd be feeling really awkward at that moment. Of course, I responded with a "yes", followed by a "sorry, I've got to hurry and get to my next class." But this isn't the end to this story! The next day, I believe I saw him before math class. My teacher was late as always, so we started on our exam a bit late. While we waited outside of the trailers, the guy came by our trailer, and me thinking he came to socialize with his friend *Kayla (*name changed to protect their privacy), but thinking about what had happened the day before it was probably because I was there. He talked to us for awhile, until the bell rang and my teacher arrived telling everyone to clear the doorway. After the exam we had lunch, but since there was a food fight for the first lunch period, the last two lunch periods had to eat in their current classroom as opposed to the lunch room. So, with guidance from our teachers, we were escorted to the cafeteria to get lunch if we were buying (If we weren't, then we were told to wait). Once again, the guy was there, and he came to talk to us and gave Kayla* and I a high-five. It was time to go back to class, so we headed to the trailers and ate. I played chess with Kayla*, Amy*, and Madina*. When the class period finally ended, it was time for P.E. The exam would be easy, because it was a true-or-false test about Volleyball and Soccer, consisting of 25 questions. When I left, I saw the guy come out of his classroom, too. I glanced back as he was walking behind me, sure to catch up with me. I slowed down, just to see if he did come up to me. He came up and poked me [and my fatttttttt self], and I looked left, but he had come around on my right side. We talked all the way up to my P.E. class, even though he wasn't heading to the second floor. I must say it was quite weird, and once I added him on facebook, I had him explain everything, and now someone is in love with me. Oy vey! Psh, I like someone else, anyway... and I'd rather die an old maid or become a nun if the person I like doesn't like me... just kidding by the way... but that is an option...

Well, I feel like I just wrote a freakin' NOVEL for you, I hope I didn't bore you too much. Alright, now let's get to the serious stuff... but before I move on, here's the floor plan I had to draw up in 3 days for my final exam-- not for homework, but in-class!

My confirmation went smoother than I had thought. I'm glad it's over, but I did enjoy meeting with my mentor and talking about not only religion but our lives, and it helped get things off my chest that upset me. Not only did I get confirmed, but I was baptized. Honestly, it was so much for me in one morning, and I still have a very agnostic side (I tend to be very opinionated), but I did it anyway, and it was a great learning experience... it also drew me closer to the people I went to youth group with. I was the oldest confirmand, since it was usually meant for 8th grade, but I was the only high school freshman this year. Here's a picture from the Confirmation trip at Lake Lanier, and the confirmation day (see below)... on the confirmation Sunday (also Mother's Day), we didn't have one of our confirmands-- he decided he wasn't going to go through with it. Anyway, take a look:

Avenue Q was fantastic. I'm thinking of writing a review on it, whenever I can get my review site up. (By the way, I've mentioned this many times before. I enjoy having a seperate directory and doll site, but it's hard to manage messages separately on both, so one day, I might just give up and combine them to this main site, but that will take a lot of work once again; this also means the review site might be re-added here, but that idea is less likely to happen). Anyway, I wouldn't recommend Avenue Q to people below the age of 13... there is a parental advisory, so depending on the child's maturity and knowledge of things, I wouldn't take them unless you think they can handle or comprehend the scenarios addressed in the show. There are some swear words, from the F*, to the S* and so on. However, it is a great program to show how tough life can be in this world-- from layoffs, to trying to find a job, college, love relationships (including homosexuality), and other things. It's also quite hilarious, and their music is very catchy (I even find myself singing a tune here and there, and I even have the soundtrack on my iPod). The scene I didn't like too much was "You Can Be As Loud As The Heck You Want (When you're making love)". That was a little too much for me, but don't worry, it's just puppets. Enough said. Here's a photo of the cast taking a bow, and myself with my Avenue Q t-shirt outside of the Cobb Energy Centre!

I visited Athens, the land of the Georgia Bulldogs, for a wedding at the end of May. It was pretty fun! It had all my favorite colors of course-- red and black-- and my favorite team. My mother and grandmother suffered, though. They are huge tech fans. Our hotel room was awesome I must say. Literally everything you touched had a Georgia Bulldog logo on it (from the cabinet handles to the lightswitch plates). Of course, my cousin Josh had a groom's cake with a bulldog on it. It was pretty fun, even though we didn't stay until the REAL fun of the celebration. They chose a pretty venue for the wedding. Here's a few photos, below:

Well, I've made some money this summer. My job has kept me busy. I had most of the week off last week, so I spent time taking many photos with friends and having fun. This week is busy... I work today at the swim meet and then go to the pizza cafe afterwards with the team. It will be busy!
Last week, I had mini photo shoots with my friends. I'll share a few more photos from what we did. I went down south to visit an old friend I met when I was home-schooled, and we swam and came to her house to have cake with a few other friends of hers. It was fun. I returned and then went to the pool, only to find out everyone had left for Charlie's house to watch Pirates of the Carribbean 3. I've seen that movie plenty of times, but I wanted to hang out, so Madeleine and I walked over together to see it. I left early, unfortunately. But it was entertaining for the almost hour-and-a-half I was there. The next day, Saturday, I went to Laura's house to hang out with Molly and Claire, and had a massive 'photoshoot'. It went fabulous. We went to a park at an old, closed school that was literally down the street from her (and behind our city's pool) and played around, taking many photos. We came back and looked at them while snacking on food. Unfortunately, my dear companion--err-- camera, lost its shutter button. We didn't notice until Molly mentioned it as she was finishing looking at our pictures. My poor Sony camera! I had taken one last picture as we had walked up in the driveway, and that was of one of Laura's cats. I had lost it between that time and the time we got in the house. We didn't find it. :-( We may invest in a new camera if it can't be fixed. I hope we get a new one soon, though, if that's the case. Claire had to leave to have an early Father's Day dinner with her family, so Molly, Laura and I went on to dinner at the pizza cafe. I decided to use my waterproof camera for the rest of the evening. We then went to the Shell station down the street from her house, to see if they had bags of popcorn. We didn't find any, but we did find some of Van Holten's SASSY pickles! It's an inside joke... remind me to explain later, and I might. Anyway, we took a picture and sent it to our friend Charlie so he could have a laugh. Good times... haha. So we walked on back and watched the Exorcism of Emily Rose. It was pretty good. I'm a sucker for horror films. Anyway, if you want to see a few photos from the occasion, visit my Deviant Art account.

I hope this blog wasn't boring! It took me long enough to type it (about 2 hours... give or take a few minutes... just to collect my thoughts and put them all down). I hope I can find some time to work on the site while enjoying life outside of the internet! Haha. Love you guys and I'm sorry for lack of updates. We all have lives that we should enjoy outside of the internet, not just online. Have a great summer for those who are on summer break! ♥
