Kelsey
The name is Kelsey. I am 14 years old and I really enjoy photography. I do not plan on pursuing this as a career, but more of a hobby that I would like to develop. I love taking portraits of children, plus photos of flowers and other nature. Not only am I into photography, but I also enjoy web design, writing, video producing, and swimming. Read more?

Kelsey
Hi, I am Kelsey! I am 14 years old and have been into photography since 2005. When I was little, I started out with a very small camera; one made by Fisher Price. Not many of my photos were good at the time, for I just snapped away to amuse myself.
When I became older, my grandfather presented me with an Argus digital camera, 3.0 megapixels, for my 10th birthday. It didn't make the best quality pictures, but I took some pretty good shots! My most favorite photo I had ever taken with that camera would have to be this Angel Wing Cloud-- a beautiful cloud I happened upon one day that I was lucky enough to see in the sky.
Come the end of the year, for Christmas, I got another camera. It was a Kodak Camera, with 5.0 megapixels. It took better photos, but still wasn't quite the best quality. That took many shots as well; some good, some bad. I was still learning from trial and error and ended up taking some more good shots.
I actually didn't really put much effort into photography before 2007. I just sort of snapped at everything, making memories. But up until the end of summer in 2007, I took some better photos. I started using my grandpa's Sony camera, with 6.0 megapixels. I went to this concert (one where we knew the bass guitar player personally!) and took some great photos. I thought I should maybe strive for more professional-looking pictures. Now, that concert took places in the mountains. Instead of paying for a hotel for the weekend, we stayed in a relative's house in the Appalacian mountains. When morning came the day after the concert, my cousin Chelsea, her friend Julia, and I woke up and ate breakfast as we watched the birds outside. I thought, "What a great opportunity to make some good shots of the animals!" I grabbed the camera and started snapping away. Julia joined in and took some good shots as well, so we both were photographers for the moment.
Come spring of 2008, I started photographing my little cousins more, but I tended to do candid shots of them. I was still doing more photo-journalism shots then (and still do very much now), but I tried my best to make pretty pictures.
Throughout the rest of 2008, my photography improved. I have been to several family parties, and been around a variety of nature, so I've had many photographing opportunities. On estimate, since 2005, I've taken almost 10,000 photos (or maybe a few thousand less, but at least 5,000!). Not only that, but I've probably taken 3,000 since the beginning of 2009. In one day, on average, I make at least 300 shots or more. Pretty wild, eh? Feel free to browse around at my photography. Please note about 10% of the photos displayed are taken by my parents or grandparents, so not all belong to me. Hope you enjoyed reading about me, and looking at my photos!
